Math is for Everyone
Welcome to J.Pi Tutoring
Math is all about building blocks. Each topic builds on previous knowledge, and if one block is missing, it all comes tumbling down. Let me help you put the pieces together, so you can keep building your knowledge!
Here’s how I will help your students:
Class Support
I’ll work with your student on homework and prep together for quizzes, tests, and finals.
Standardized Test Prep
We’ll work through practice tests for the SAT or ACT and learn topics, tips, and tricks for mastering the tests.
Fundamentals Deep Dive
We’ll pick a fundamental topic where your student struggles (ie. long division, fractions, or negative numbers) and master it together.
New Topic Instruction
For students who want guidance as they learn a new topic outside of the classroom, I can act as a teacher to them.

About Me

Hi, I’m Julie Pinchak! I have a Bachelor’s Degree from UCLA and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from California State University, Northridge. After ten years working in both the Aerospace Engineering and Tech Startup worlds as an engineer, I decided to focus fully on what has always been my passion, which is helping students thrive in math. I work as a Center Director and Lead Instructor at a math tutoring center, and I have my own private students. I teach on topics ranging from elementary school math through Calculus and Linear Algebra.
In my experience, many students want to like math but are stuck. Math is all about building blocks, where every new concept builds on another. If they’ve missed a block along the way, then their entire knowledge base comes tumbling down. I’m here to help them put the pieces back together. My method focuses on three main goals:
COMFORT
Students learn best when they feel comfortable and safe. I create a comfortable, judgment-free space that encourages curiosity and growth.
FOUNDATIONS
I work with each student to ensure they’re keeping up with their current classes while also strengthening the basics along the way.
BIG PICTURE
I help students put the blocks together. A lot of math is taught in stovepiped ways, but it’s all connected! I give my students the context to gain a deeper understanding of the concepts.
I can’t wait to make your students feel more at ease around math! My methods will ensure your student gains confidence and knowledge of math in no time!
Locations
In-Person
I mostly tutor students in the red-shaded area on the map, but I’m flexible and open to exploring ways to work together.

Virtual
If you live outside of the LA area or virtual is more your speed, I have a lot of experience teaching math in a remote setting.
